Prime Minister Narendra Modi was honoured with the Zayed Medal, the highest possible recognition in the country of UAE for strengthening the ties between the two countries.
- The Zayed Medal is claimed of the highest decoration, often awarded to kings, heads and Presidents of states.
- PM Modi humbly thanked the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, stating that these ties are contributing to peace and prosperity between the two nations.
- The Minister of External Affairs, Sushma Swaraj congratulated him and stated that the award had honoured not just him but the people of India as well.
- The Crown Prince had also visited India recently in 2017 as the Chief Guest of Republic Day.
India and UAE had maintained peaceful ties since 2005 and their ties were strengthened mainly by trade, investment activities and business. We hope that this award further strengthens the relations between the countries in the future and leads to prosperity of both the nations.
