Each and every one of us who watch television are well aware of Kaun Banega Crorepati, the most popular television game show in India. Kaun Banega Crorepati’s first episode went on air on 3rd July 2000 while we got to witness the last episode on 7th November 2017. The popular game show has ruled our hearts for 17 years and it was everybody’s dream to sit in the famous ‘hot seat’.
The incredible quiz show was hosted by none other than the evergreen Amitabh Bachchan who helped the show become one of the most beautiful memories from the 90’s. KBC is the longest game show in India and it was filled with entertainment. The quiz show tested one’s knowledge and intelligence while Mr. Bachchan’s wittiness took the show to a whole new level.
Once, a Quora user asked, “How can I reach KBC hot seat? What is the procedure?”. Yes, that is exactly how popular the game show had become and each and every Indian dreamt of sitting in that hot seat face to face with Amitabh Bachchan.
In fact, even before the commencement of the show, people were curious to fill the registration processes in advance so that they get to meet the greatest superstar Bollywood have ever produced, Amitabh Bachchan. The show even inspired the movie ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ and it was a commercial success all over the world.
There are a lot of things that people want to know about the game show and one such thing is what exactly flashes behind that famous computer screen. Abhinav Pandey asked Quora regarding what Amitabh Bachchan really sees behind his Computer ji’s big screen and this is what an ex-contestant replied:
“I was one of the luckiest persons who got the opportunity to be on prestigious hot seat so I guess I can answer this well. His computer may be responsive i.e. he may skip the content or operate the process a little bit. However, the computer operator who sets the questions, timers etc sits in another place. A contestant’s computer is unresponsive i.e. he can’t skip or flip the content shown over the screen. A typical computer screen of Bachchan sir consists of current questions, all options, winning streak, used and unused life lines. In the middle if he forgets details like name, place, job, village or companions of contestant then he could recall all by altering the screen option or check it on another big screen placed diagonally to the hot seat. Unlike popular belief Bachchan sir doesn’t know the correct answer before “Lock kar diya jaye (lock it please)”. After locking up the option the screen shows correct answer, incorrect answer and the details of correct answer. To alert candidates from wrong answers are just the good gestures of the host. When a candidate takes the ‘phone a friend’ lifeline, then the screen shows the names and details of the nominees. A timer on his screen provides the interval breaks. However, it may be prolonged by the will of the host. Both the screens (hot seat and Bachchan sir’s) are kept off during the fastest finger first round.”
