‘Vaishnav Jana To Tene Kahiye’ is Narsi Mehta’s 15th-century poem in old Gujarati which was adopted by Mahatma Gandhi into the list of prayers routinely sung at the Sabarmati ashram.
The Bhajan gives a heartwarming message to the followers which go as: ‘feel the pain of another man, and try and alleviate another’s hurt.’
And on Gandhi Ji’s birthday, Pakistani singer Shafqat Amanat Ali gave a lovely tribute to the Indian activist with a beautiful rendition of the poem.
