After weeks of massive anticipation and excitement, world class Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez has finally joined Manchester United from a struggling Arsenal side. The tremendously skill full customer was bagged by the Red Devils in a deal worth 35 million pounds. Arsenal was also handed Henrikh Mkhitaryan making it a swap deal.
Alexis Sanchez joined Arsenal from Spanish giants Barcelona in the year of 2014 and got off to a flying start. His exceptional abilities as a footballer saw him score 60 goals from his 122 appearances as a gooner. However, Arsenal continued to struggle as a team in the league and all other competitions making it tough for Sanchez at the club. The Chilean also had a fallout with head coach Arsene Wenger which sparked his exit.
Considering the potential of the player the move is beneficial for both the player and his new club. As a top level star the right footed talisman deserves to be a robust customer in the European competitions and Jose mOurinho is the best man to take care of him. Sanchez can also give back Manchester United their lost status as one of the best in Europe when he joins forces with Paul Pogba, Romelu Lukaku, David De Gea and other stars. He will also expected to fill up the gap left by the injured Zlatan Ibrahimovic who is nearing the end of his career.
Sanchez is set to earn a Premier League record of 350,000 pounds a week on a four and a half year deal. sanchez becomes the first Arsenal player to leave the London side for United since Robin Van Persie’s high profile move in 2012. United snubbed Alexis Sanchez from arch Rivals Manchester City who came inches close to signing the player last summer. On the other hand Mkhitaryan has joined Arsenal in a deal which sees him at the club till 2021.
