Sunny Leone opens up about the extreme criticism she faced in Bollywood at the age of 21
Criticism is something we can avoid easily by saying nothing, doing nothing, and being nothing. Every successful person has faced it and handled it like a pro; it is one of their defining qualities. Our Bollywood Celebs are often subjected to harsh criticism, not only for their acting skills but even for their bodies, styles and fashion experiments. But handling it all from the tender age of 21, Sunny Leone opens about her struggles.
The prominent actress reveals to media that she has been inflicted with the denunciation even before she stepped in India. She explains :
“Many people have the misconception that people started criticising me when I decided to come to India, but that is not true. I started getting hate mails and criticism when I was around 21 years old. So it has nothing to do with the country, but society in general. That was the first time I faced real hatred.”
It was very intractable for her to deal with the negative remarks at such a young age. Harsh words often discourage us and keep us from achieving our goals. But Sunny conquered it all to break through the film industry and carve her own niche.
God's Plan!! June 21st, 2017 was the day @dirrty99 and I found out that we might possible be having 3children within a short amount of time. We planned and tried to have a family and after so many years our family is now complete with Asher Singh Weber, Noah Singh Weber and Nisha Kaur Weber. Our boys were born a few weeks ago but were alive in our hearts and eyes for many years. God planned something so special for us and gave us a large family. We are both the proud parents of three beautiful children. Surprise everyone!
She recounts the immense support her family provided her and the mental trauma she went through:
“Like many families, there are some problems in our family too. There is love, hate, emotional moments in all our lives, but our parents protected my brother and me from all the negativity, as much as they could. But at the age of 21, when you see people are saying really nasty things about you, it affects you so badly… I was vulnerable and broken from within emotionally.”
But all this pain proved to be worthy of what she finally achieved: recognition and appreciation for her work. A new series called “Karenjit Kaur – The Untold Story of Sunny Leone” brings to our knowledge the tale of the Bollywood Diva, before becoming ‘Sunny Leone’, her middle-class Sikh family in Canada, the reasons for choosing the Adult film industry and finally establishing herself in Bollywood.
