Ravindra Jadeja Targets BCCI on Twitter, Deletes Tweet afterwards
The incident took place after the selection of team players, for IND vs AUS which is starting from September 17. Ravindra Jadeja posted a tweet with a hidden message that took a slight dig at the BCCI. He deleted his tweet afterwards as he thought it would give a wrong message.
The all rounder, who has contributed hugely to India’s success in recent times expressed his frustration on Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) as he was not “selected” for the first 3 ODI matches against Australia. The selection committee recalled fast bowler Umesh Yadav and Mohammad Shami while Yuvraj Singh and Suresh Raina where overlooked for the second consecutive time. However, what grabbed the eyeballs was the exclusion of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja, the leading spinners in the side.
The 28 year old posted “Make your come back stronger than your setbacks #rajputboy” with his picture on Twitter. Later he deleted this tweet assuming that it would pass on a wrong message.
Both the cricketers last played together in the ICC Champions Trophy finals in June. They were replaced by promising talents Axar Patel and Yuzvendra Chanchal after they proved their mettle against Sri Lanka in the ODI series.
Ashwin continued playing cricket in England with County Cricket Club Worcestershire, but Jadeja is still waiting for his turn after the Sri Lanka Test Series in August which India won with 3-0 under the guidance of Virat Kohli.
Going by the words of MSK Prasad the two spinners were given rest according to the rotation policy taken up by the BCCI. “The team for the three ODI’s against Australia has been selected according to the rotation policies. Keeping the rotation policy in mind these players have been given rest”
