To all Game of Thrones lovers out there, Rob Stark is a familiar name. Needless to say, we are no stranger to the fact that the character of the eldest son of Eddard Stark was played by Richard Madden. The now 32-year-old actor nailed the role perfectly in the first two seasons of HBO’s adaption of the 1996 novel.
However, as per DNA, here is an interesting fact you all would be interested to know. In a striking revelation, Richard Madden has thrown light on the salary he received for his part in Game of Thrones. And according to the actor, he was not paid much! In an interview with The Sunday Times, he said,
“People think I am (loaded) because of Game Of Thrones, but you know, when I signed up for that I was 22, with f**k all on my CV, so I was paid f**k all.”
Adding to the statement, he mentioned that there is a prevailing inequality when it comes to payments between male and female actors in the industry.
“The equality thing needs to be addressed hugely between male and female co-stars. I know that from friends of mine. But there’s only so much I can do for myself. Agents and lawyers, they do all that stuff.”
“I just kind of deal with what I need to, so I don’t look a producer in the eye and f**king hate them when they’re talking about their villas, and you’re thinking, shit, I’m getting the bus at the weekend, because I don’t have the money for a cab, you know?.”
Well, that’s a biggie from Richard.
