In a country where the cow is worshipped as God, an attack by one of those animals is currently making news. Yes, it was actually an assault by a cow, which is normally harmless to humans.
In a bizarre incident that took place in Gujarat, Liladhar Vaghela, the BJP MP from Patan constituency was severely attacked by a cow, just outside his residence. Liladhar has been admitted to Gandhinagar’s Apollo hospital and has suffered two fractured ribs alongside an injury on the head.
According to the Deccan Chronicle, the politician has also complained about the difficulty to breathe and has been kept in the ICU under observation. If the local media are to be believed, the 83-year-old was out for an evening walk on Thursday evening when the incident took place. A stray cow suddenly attacked him leaving him with little option to save himself. He tried to distract the cow with his handkerchief, but could not save himself from being hurt.
According to the Times of India, Vaghela had a few rotis with him to feed the stray cows near his home. And that is when the incident took place. However, Vaghela is now in stable condition according to a medical bulletin issued by the hospital.
