WhatsApp messenger which is owned by Facebook is by far the best messaging platform in the world right now. It has uncountable users and in today’s world we cannot do without the app. In 2017, we saw the app unveil some of its latest features which became popular among the users within no time. And with 2018 already on its way WhatsApp messenger seems to have planned something more for us.
With the new year comes new surprises. And let me tell you WhatsApp messenger is ready with their own set of surprises. Going by the rumours the application is set all set to introduce two new features. One of them is that the WhatsApp users will be able to edit sent text messages and the other one being group calls for voice and videos being enabled.
The feature which grabbed the most of the limelight in 2017 was the ‘delete message’ feature which allows a user to delete a message within seconds after sending it. The ‘editing message’ feature is being considered its extension. Here’s a look at the features that are to be unveiled in 2018:
WhatsApp UPI-based payments integration for India
This feature is all set to be introduced in 2018 as the company is already said to be in advanced talks with State Bank of India (SBI), National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) and other institutions to start the peer-to-peer payment system in WhatsApp.
WhatsApp ability to edit sent messages
This is one of the most anticipated of the new features that are to be unveiled. A tweet by WABetalnfo read “WhatsApp had added in beta the possibility to edit messages that you already sent, and it is actually disabled by default and it’s under development”.
WhatsApp group calls
This is also an useful feature which the company is planning to roll out soon. A person can add up to 3 members in a voice or video group call. However, the option to switch between group video call to voice call is not available yet.
