One of the greatest events in sports entertainment, the FIFA World Cup, gets underway today in Russia. People all over the world are going berserk as the players prepare themselves for the battle to begin. There will be 32 teams participating in the mega-event and finally, it will come down to just one who will get their hands on the prestigious trophy.  The first game will be played between hosts Russia and Suadi Arabia. Here’s all you need to know about the opening ceremony:

FIFA World Cup 2018 opening ceremony will kick off at 6:30 pm IST.

Where will the opening ceremony take place?

The opening ceremony of the mega event will take place in front of 80,000 people at the Luzhniki Stadium on June 14 and is expected to be approximately 30 minutes long with 500 local performers. Brazil football legend Ronaldo will also be a part of the opening ceremony.




Which artist will perform live at the ceremony?

The opening ceremony will witness Will Smith and Nicky Jam performing the FIFA World Cup 2018 official song ‘Live It Up’. Apart from the two, Robbie Williams and Russian operatic soprano Aida Garifullina will also perform at the mega-event.
