It is an age-old belief that not many of us have held on to – the thing about every individual having seven doppelgangers all over the world. Just in case you’re not a believer, here is something that might just make you change your mind.
According to Mumbai Mirror, Peter Dinklage, popularly known for his character in Game Of Thrones, as Tyrion Lannister, has a Kashmiri doppelganger whose name is Tariq Mir. He was seen posing for a snap with Bollywood director Imtiaz Ali and his similarity with Tyrion is absolutely crazy.
Imitiaz met Tariq when he was shooting for a project in the Valley. Tariq became an overnight sensation after the picture of them went viral.
For a fact, Tariq is also an actor by profession and serendipity was the reason behind it. He was given his first break by Khawar Jamsheed, who is Imtiaz Ali’s line producer and also a distant relative.
“I get minor roles on local TV shows. Sometimes it takes a long time to find work. I also thank Khawar, who trusted in me and has invested in me. Whatever I am today, it is because of him.”
Tariq literally had no clue that someone named Peter Dinklage actually existed in Hollywood, who looked exactly like him!
Tariq is about 30 years old. However, Tyrion, on the other hand, is 48 now. In a certain interview, Tariq shared how his life had suddenly changed right after this new found fame!
“Now, I have become famous. It has given me and other actors in the Valley hope that we can accomplish big things. I recently played Tyrion in a short film and now it is my dream to meet him, I imitate his walk, his style… even his clothes. I feel proud every time I see him on Game Of Thrones. Tyrion Lannister is an inspiration for every dwarf.”
Tariq is now a regular follower of the fantasy drama and spends two hours a day watching videos of Tyrion Lannister on Youtube.
“Now it’s a part of my daily routine. My first reaction after seeing Tyrion Lannister was to thank god for making me look like him.”
Time for a desi GoT? Eh?
