‘Didi’ comes to Kerala’s aid, announces 10 crores for flood victims on behalf of West Bengal
We are all aware of the horrific situation in Kerala. Rain-fed floods have absolutely shattered the southern state in India and the people and animals are facing the hardest time of their lives. Many have lost their homes and even their lives and the state is in urgent need of support from all of us. Horrific videos of the flood have surfaced on the internet over the past few days and we are in total shock. Many people are contributing in whatever forms they can and we request all of you to come forward and donate.
Stunned by the horrific sights in Kerala, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said on Sunday that West Bengal government will be donating Rs 10 crore to the Kerala Chief Ministers relief fund. She made the announcement on Twitter.
My heart goes out to the people of Kerala battling #KeralaFloods In this hour of crisis, to stand beside the flood-affected people of Kerala, we have decided to make a contribution of Rs Ten Crore to the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund 1/2

She said that the state was willing to extend all form of assistance and support to the Kerala government to deal with the current flood situation there.
“We are also ready to extend all other assistance and support that may be needed to tackle the calamity. We pray that our brothers and sisters of Kerala resume normal life soon”
194 people have lost their lives in Kerala since August 8 as the state continues to battle the flood. We once again request all of you to contribute in whatever form you can to help the people and animals in Kerala.
