There is probably not a single individual in the country, who is not aware of Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev. And of course, his consumer goods brand Patanjali. Founded in the year of 2006, it has now become one of India’s most trusted FMCG brand.
Well, that’s not it. Baba Ramdev has now decided to explore a completely different field. Ramdev made his grand entry into the telecom sector by launching the ‘Swadeshi Samriddhi’ SIM card in partnership with BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited).
While speaking on the occasion, he claimed that the government-owned BSNL is a ‘Swadeshi Network’ and the purpose of both BSNL, as well as Patanjali, is just the same, which is, the welfare of the country.
“There are five lakh counters of BSNL and from there people can soon get Patanjali Swadeshi Samriddhi card.”
A simple recharge of ₹144 will give you unlimited calls across the country, 2 GB data and also, you have 100 SMSes at hand, just in case.
It is to be noted that in the beginning, it is just Patanjali employees who will be able to avail the benefits of the SIM card. However, after its full-fledged launch in the coming months, all people will be able to get a discount of 10 percent on Patanjali products with the Swadesh Samriddhi SIM cards.
If you are thinking that’s that, you are wrong. Besides telecom service and discounts on Patanjali products, people will also get health, accidental and life insurance on the Swadeshi Samriddhi SIM card.
Baba Ramdev has also mentioned that in addition with amazing data and call package, the card also comes with a ₹2.5 lakh medical and ₹5 lakh life insurance cover, which can only be availed in the case of road accidents.
While we cannot predict the potential of the Sim card, but it is definitely a commendable move by Baba Ramdev.
