Indian skipper Virat Kohli is arguably the best batsman in the world right now. He has performed for the team almost everytime he stepped onto the field and is loved by the fans for the same. Kohli has a wonderful technique with the willow and is very difficult to get out when he is on the song.
But apart from his batting qualities, Virat Kohli is also very aggressive in nature as far as his captaincy is concerned. Kohli became the captain of the Indian team after Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s awesome run as the Indian leader. Since then, the Delhi boy has done a commendable job in leading the team from the front.
Kohli’s aggressive nature as a captain has often been visible on the screen. He is just the opposite of Mahendra Singh Dhoni who was more of a calm and composed person. The 29-year-old Kohli has many a time been unable to control his emotions during a match and has been spotted abusing in joy when a wicket falls.
During the match between the Royal Challengers Bangalore and the Kolkata Knight Riders, youngster Nitish Rana gave Kohli a taste of his own medicine when he managed to send the Indian skipper back to the pavilion. It was a very unusual dismissal for Kohli as he was cleaned up by the young all-rounder who shouted “Bhench*d” targeting the RCB man.
The moment was caught on camera and the incident did not go down well with the Indian fans. People slammed Rana, who was also successful in getting the important wicket of AB de Villiers, on Twitter. Nitish Rana who is mainly known for his batting qualities bowled extremely well for the Knights but his heroics quite obviously got overshadowed by the incident.
However, the Kolkata Knight Riders went on to win the match as the successfully chased down the total put up by the men in red. Once again, it was Bangalore’s bowling that let them down as they failed to defend their decent total of 176 runs.
Here’s how the people reacted to the incident:
