Confirmed. Shah Rukh Khan to play Rakesh Sharma in astronaut’s biopic Saare Jahaan Se Achcha

Things have not been going that well for Shah Rukh Khan lately as his last bunch of films has all failed to live up to the hype. But we know it for a fact that the ‘Baadshah’ is not a person to give up easily and is expected to make a solid impact with his upcoming film Zero which also stars Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif in pivotal roles.

But Shah Rukh seems to have lined up some good films to restore the audience’s faith in him and one of them is Saare Jahaan Se Achcha which is to be produced by Ronnie Screwvala. In the film, Shah Rukh will be seen playing the role of astronaut Rakesh Sharma, the first Indian to have traveled in space.

There were a lot of speculations that Aamir Khan would be playing the role but Shah Rukh has finally been chosen to do justice to the demand. An official announcement on the lead actress is also expected and there are rumours that Bhumi Pednekar might be seen in the film.

According to NDTV, Ronnie Screwvala confirmed that Shah Rukh will be the man playing Rakesh Sharma and said:

“We are doing that film with Shah Rukh Khan. We should begin it by February or March next year, but we haven’t announced the female lead yet.”

The producer also said that he wants to focus on the cast and script of the films he does.

“This time around there is no compulsion. I can do three movies a year, or six. Telling the stories I want to tell is most important. That’s what I’m going to focus on, bring deeply involved with everything, from cast and script. That’s the plan.”

Shah Rukh will begin shooting for the film in February next year and we are more than excited for it. Aren’t you?
