Ranveer Singh is receiving praises from all around the nation for his performance in Padmaavat. Ranveer Singh, I’m sure everyone will agree, has baffled the audiences and critics with his mind-boggling portrayal of Mughal Emperor, Alauddin Khilji in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s legendary period drama Padmaavat.

Ranveer says that he feels fulfilled and relieved with the overwhelming response of his viewers to his character and the movie’s supreme success at the box-office!

Ranveer Singh, in a recent interview, spoke about the one day that made him what he is.

He said,”No matter where I go, the most memorable day of my life would be when I got selected for Band Baaja Baaraat.”

“It was my fairytale — a kid, with the singular dream of being a Hindi film hero, made it despite the bleak chances of million to one! I became that sperm which swam through. Mine is an unbelievable cinematic story and I’ll never forget how I felt in that moment,” the actor added further.

Band Baaja Baaraat released way back in December 2010.

The film was produced by Yash Raj Films and directed by first-time director, Maneesh Sharma. The director saw Ranveer sharing screen space with Anushka Sharma. The film was a moderate success with a lifetime collection of over ₹22 crores. However, it received flattering reviews from critics all over the country. Taking up the role of a carefree boy studying in Delhi University, was quite a sensation.

We are all witness to the fact that Ranveer Singh has definitely come a long way ever since and today, we still have him instilling life into the menacing and cruel Khilji in Padmaavat. The movie, also starring Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor in the lead roles, released on the 25th of January after a long, controversial delay. It has been just five days and the movie has already bagged an insane amount of ₹ 129 crores. Padmaavat is not only a success here, but also turned out to be a massive hit internationally.
