Ranbir Kapoor riding high on the success of his latest film Sanju. The film is arguably Ranbir’s career best and his performance in the same has been both critically and commercially a success. The film is currently shattering all box office records and it won’t be wrong to say that there will be few better movies than Sanju this year.
In the film, which is based on controversial superstar Sanjay Dutt’s life, Ranbir excelled in his effortless acting and his portrayal of the icon has a creepy resemblance. Ranbir adapted Dutt’s mannerisms and body language so well that even ‘Baba’ could not stop himself from praising the youngster.
The film shows the journey of Sanjay Dutt’s life from the stage when he got addicted to drugs to his rise to stardom. It also covers Dutt’s time in the Yerawada jail and then bouncing back as an actor.
In an interview with Deccan Chronicle, Ranbir spoke about the shocking similarity between real and reel Sanju. He said:
“I have tried drugs when I was in college and got into bad influence. But I realised that nothing will happen in life if I continue with drugs. When we did that section, I did a lot of research”
Ranbir also spoke about another addiction which he has picked up:
“Every man makes mistakes in his life. I am addicted to nicotine now and it’s worse than drugs. And I have addiction for sweets as well”
