Sita was a ‘test tube baby’: Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister, Dinesh Sharma
To add to it, Sharma also said that journalism started during the time of Mahabharata.
Politicians these days seem to be taking a keen interest in general topics. We have witnessed a few bizarre comments from the leaders in the recent past and once such example was when Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb came up with the idea that “internet existed in the days of Mahabharata as well.” Not only that but he also suggested the youth to open pan shops or milk cows instead of finding suitable jobs for themselves in order to earn a living. The real boundaries were crossed when he claimed that mechanical engineers should not try for Civil Services as they are apt only for the civil engineers.
According to TOI, following in the footsteps of the Tripura Deputy Chief Minister, the Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Mr. Dinesh Sharma, has given rise to another controversy. In a shocking statement of his, Sharma said that Sita Ji from the holy Ramayana was a test tube baby.
“Sitaji ka janm hua toh ghadey se hua… us samay test-tube baby ka koi na koi project raha hoga jo hal chalaya Janakji ne aur ghadey se baby nikli woh Sitaji ban gayi… ye jo aaj ka jo technology hai test-tube baby…woh raha hoga.”
If translated into English, the statement stands as,
“Sita was born in a pitcher… must be some test-tube baby project at that time; when King Janak was ploughing his field, a pitcher was discovered and the baby found in it came to be known as Sitaji).”
The video of his speech has gone viral since then and there were protests in Bihar and Nepal against Sharma’s remarks and effigies were burned at a few places.
To add to it, Sharma also said that journalism started during the time of Mahabharata. He cited the example of Sanjaya’s description of the war to the blind king Dhritarashtra sitting in Hastinapur.
“If this is not live telecast, then what else is it?” added Sharma.
