Petting dogs on the streets is common but how often do you see people helping them with shelter and proper food?  Strays go through a lot, from accidents to starvation and all we do is sympathise, nobody does anything for all of them but that has come to an end.

Yash Sheth showed great initiative in helping them. Yash, a 26-year-old IT graduate from Matunga (Mumbai) has done what should have been done long time back, he has created something that will help all animals who end up injured or in distress. An incident in his neighborhood resulted in this decision  to create a platform which could connect animal lovers, vets, and other NGOs in real time.

The app is called ‘Let it Wag’ and is a platform for people to report stray dogs, be it injured or not. Sheth created it because he felt there’s a lack of information regarding approaching animal shelters and emergency services.

This app is available at Google Playstore and it is as easy as other ones you normally use. You just need to click a picture of the animal and upload it on the app. You can then get in touch with the vets and the NGOs based on the locality. That’s not even the best part, if you really love animals and want to help the ignored and left out ones, you can adopt from this app. All you need to do is, fill in the details of a form and an adoption agreement will be generated. The app allows you to undertake adoption with full documentation.

He said “When you put up a call for help on social media, there are six levels of tagging. But even when that tagging happens, you cannot be sure if the people being tagged are in the same location as the animal in distress. So, I wanted to create an app that would connect animal lovers, rescuers, vets, and NGOs in real time to offer immediate help. With Let It Wag, it doesn’t matter where you stay, all that matters is your current location and your will to help a furry friend in distress at that moment”.
