Politicians in India have successfully grabbed the headlines in recent times and it’s not because of their outstanding work or service to the citizens of the country. It is because of their bizarre statements which have taken the world of media by storm. We bet you are familiar with the Tripura Chief Minister’s comment claiming that internet was present during the time of Mahabharata. And the news of UP Deputy Cm stating that Sita was a ‘Test Tube Baby’? Of course, you are!
And now we have Rahul Gandhi, who has come up with a statement of that sort.
In an incident which has sparked counter-attacks on Twitter, Rahul Gandhi on Monday said that the founder of Coca-Cola was actually a man who used to sell ‘Shikanji’ in America while the founder of McDonald’s used to run a ‘dhaba’ in the country.
‘Coca-Cola company ko shuru karne wala ek shikanji bechne wala vyakti tha.’
The Congress leader made this statement talking at the national OBC convention for the party at Talkatora Stadium in the Capital and took a dig at the opposition by saying he wants to see those dhaba owners in India who have turned into the founders of Coca-Cola and McDonald’s.
