Indian Cricketer Suresh Raina avoided a major accident when one of the tyres of the Range Rover he was driving burst near Etawah.

The Southpaw, who is captaining India Blue in the ongoing Duleep Trophy, was travelling from Ghaziabad to Kanpur to take part in two matches in the tournament against India Red and India Green.

According to reports, it was around 2am when the Range Rover being driven by Suresh Raina had one of it’s tyres bursted. The Deputy Superintendent of Police Mr Rajesh Kumar Singh later confirmed the Indian star came through the incident unscathed but also said if the car would have been driven at a high speed then Suresh Raina could have suffered devastating injuries.

The Range Rover did not have a spare tyre and had to wait for around half an hour when locals informed the police of the incident who subsequently arranged for another car for the cricketer.

Meanwhile the 30 year old, who has not been in the national team picture for quite some time now, will be hoping to make his mark in the Duleep Trophy and force his way into the national team selectors’ consideration. But the left handed batsman will need some extraordinary performances to see himself wearing that prestigious blue jersey again as the Indian team right now is very well settled.

India thrashed Sri Lanka at their own den and all the players are looking in great shape. But Raina, who is a quality player from top to bottom would love to get back in the squad and the Duleep Trophy is a perfect platform for him to bounce back in style.  We at “What’s The Hype” back Suresh Raina to have an immensely successful Duleep Trophy and would love to see him back in the national team fold.
