It’s been 18 years since this movie released which turned out to have a strong effect on action film making in Hollywood. We are talking about none other than ‘The Matrix’, a science-fiction action film written and directed by The Wachowskis. This movie depicted a lot about the dystopian future and the success of the film led to the release of its sequels- The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolution, both written and directed by the Wachowskis.
Recently, there were some revelations about the film which surprised ‘The Matrix’ fans. It is more surprising than knowing that ‘The Matrix’ started as a comic or the unnamed city shown in the film is none other than Sydney, Australia.
Now, what if someone tells you that a set of secret code shown in a movie is nothing but just a bunch of food recipes? Funny, isn’t it? Surprisingly, it is true! Remember, seeing the mysterious, tumbling green coloured code on the computer screen of Neo in ‘The Matrix’? Many questions were asked about these codes, but certainly it was considered as just a computer screen background. Production designer, Simon Whiteley at last revealed to the world that The Matrix’s code is made out of Japanese sushi recipes. It’s a lie that it was a blueprint of some grand experiment. They were just sushi recipes which Whiteley collected from his wife’s cookbooks. The enthusiastic programmers, the technology goofs or ‘The Matrix’ fans can now sit in peace after watching the interview of Simon Whiteley by CNET.
Whiteley revealed this by saying “I like to tell everybody that The Matrix’s code is made out of Japanese sushi recipes” and also quoted that “Without that code, there is no Matrix”.
Don’t worry, your whole life is a not lie. There are many revelations to happen in the coming years and they might be more surprising than this. I don’t know but the next time I’ll watch ‘The Matrix’, I think I am just going to imagine sushi when they will show Neo’s ‘Matrix code’ because this revelation was an absolute game-changer.
