Stand-up comedian Tanmay Bhatt announced a video with Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut on September 3. Hansal Mehta, the director of Kangana’s upcoming film Simran expected it to be a promotional clip. But when has the dauntless Kangana Ranaut followed the trends? The incredibly talented actor teamed up with AIB for the ‘Diva Song’.

Caution: This is not a promotional video; it is a funny dig on Nepotism, Sexism that exists in Bollywood

AIB’s last few videos namely ‘Harassment through the Ages’ threw light on how women are objectified in Bollywood. This latest ‘Diva Song’ focuses on existing sexism in Bollywood, which we all re familiar with. When you think about terms like ‘Sexism’ and ‘Nepotism’, the name Kangana Ranaut is bound to pop up in your mind. No not for for blindly supporting these practices but for her resolute stand against them.

The song will definitely give you a dose of laughter and the lyrics are truer than ever. The video is a perfect slap on the faces of nepotism and sexism with a perfect mix of humour and entertainment in it. The video takes a subtle but powerful dig at Karan Johar and Hrithik Roshan, two heavyweights of the Indian film industry who have had their respective chapters with Kangana Ranaut. The relevantly directed script also slammed the media for their habit of amplifying and for their partial stands in favour of the dominant forces of Bollywood.

The video also brings Times of India’s ‘cleavage chapter’ involving Deepika Padukone under the scanner and gives a befitting reply. It highlights the fact that the films are made keeping the male lead in the center and the female leads are mostly used in a supporting role. Portraying the fact that the males are always paid more than the females the video questions the Bollywood film industry in the most appropriate way.
